Four teams ready to start Rio preparations on last day in Tokyo

 

Tokyo, Japan, May 21, 2016 - All four tickets to Rio available from the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Tokyo were issued on Saturday.  So the Netherlands, Italy, Korea and Japan can use their last matches on Sunday to start preparations for the Olympic Games, while Thailand, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Kazakhstan will simply try to finish the tournament on a high note.



Korea have qualified for Rio before they play their last FIVB Volleyball Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament match with the Dominican Republic. The Caribbean side cannot qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games, but they can end the tournament on a high note by winning twice in a row.  Read more.



Both Thailand and Peru lost their last hopes for Rio on the penultimate day of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Japan, but will each try to finish with a victory as they face each other on Sunday.  Read more.



Kazakhstan have not won any matches at the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Japan yet and Sunday's game against already qualified Italy is their last chance.  Read more.



This will be the final showdown of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Tokyo and, despite having already qualified for Rio, the Netherlands and Japan are expected to put on a great game for the packed house of enthusiastic spectators.  Read more.
