The FIVB Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament will take place in Japan and doubles with the Asian Olympic Qualification tournament. The best ranked Asian team and the top three ranked teams will qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The first Women's World Olympic Qualification tournament will be played at one venue, the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
It is a round robin tournament: eight teams will compete across 28 games, with each country playing seven matches in as many days.
Throughout the tournament, there will be 2 days off, with no match taking place: Monday, May 16 and Thursday, May 19.
