Qualification

The FIVB Volleyball Women's World Olympic Qualification Tournament will take place from May 14-22. The best ranked Asian team plus the top three ranked teams will qualify for the Olympics. If an Asian team is ranked among the top three, then the next ranked team will be qualified.

How teams qualified

Hosts Japan will be joined by the three best ranked Asian teams, the second and third teams from the European Olympic Qualification Tournament, as well as the second placed teams from the South American and NORCECA Olympic Qualification Tournaments.

Olympic Qualification Process

At the end of this World Olympic Qualification tournament, the best ranked Asian team plus the top three ranked teams will qualify for the Olympics

If an Asian team is ranked among the top three, then the next ranked team will be qualified. Likewise if the best ranked Asian team is ranked 5th at the end of the tournament, they will qualify for the Olympics.
