Bonitta impressed by team's resolve

 

The Italian wall proved very hard for Thailand to penetrate

Tokyo, Japan, May 15, 2016 - Italian captain Antonella Del Core said her team fought back well after being overwhelmed by the rhythm of Thailand early, while Thai coach Radchatagriengkai said his team learned a lot from the Italians.

Italy coach Marco Bonitta - “Thailand played very good volleyball in the first and fourth sets today. They played at a high level. We were able to address our problems from the second set.”

Thai coach Radchatagrienkai K - “We are happy to play against one of the best teams in the world. We learned a lot during the match. We all worked together to solve our problems.”

Italy captain Antonella Del Core - “It was a tough match today. We got off to a bad start. We were overwhelmed by their rhythm at the start. We came back from the second set.”

Italy player Paola Egonu - “It was a tough match. In the end we could find our rhythm and win the match. I wanted to contribute and play aggressively.”

Thailand captain Thinkaow Pleumjit - “We were happy to play against Italy today. Italy has good skills in all areas - serves, blocks, spikes. In the first set Italy not respond well.”

“From the second set we did not do well with our combination play.”

Thailand player Kongyot Ajcharaporn - “At least we won one set. We will do our best in the next match and I hope to contribute to the victory.”
