Tokyo, Japan, May 23, 2016 – FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° was a welcome guest of the Peruvian Ambassador to Tokyo during the FIVB Women’s Olympic Qualification Tournament that took place in the Japanese capital last week.
Dr Graça met the Peru ambassador Elard Escala and introduced him to the Peru women’s team, who were taking part in the competition.
The ambassador wished his team all the best for the tournament and expressed the hope that even if Peru failed to qualify for the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games that they would be able to return to Japan’s capital to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Peru finished the tournament with one win and six defeats. Their only victory was a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 26-24) defeat of the Dominican Republic.
