Peru coach Mauro Marasciulo - “I was happy to see great volleyball today from Italy. It was Italian style volleyball. I was in Italy volleyball for 20 years so I can appreciate it.”

“We will continue to strive to make the Olympics. We have tough matches in the coming days.”

Italy captain Antonella Del Core - “It was tough with the early start today. We had some mistakes at the beginning, but we kept our concentration and went point-by-point to the victory.”

Peru captain Mirtha Uribe - “It was a difficult match for us. We had high motivation. They had high blocks and attacks which made it tough.

“Our practices are yielding results, so we will continue striving to make the Olympics.”
