Our game was almost perfect - Guidetti

 

Lonneke Sloetjes led the scoring again for The Netherlands with 20 points

Tokyo, Japan, May 17, 2016 - Dutch coach Giovanni Guidetti described his team’s performance against Thailand as “almost perfect”, while Thai coach Radchatagriengkai lamented that his team could not implement its pre-game strategy.

Netherlands coach Giovanni Guidetti - “You need a lot of discipline against them. Today was an important match for us after the loss to Korea.”

“We were precise, disciplined and aggressive. We played almost perfectly in an important match.” 

“It's not easy for us to play against Asian team. Their style is different to European teams. The Thai team has a very complicated system to go against.”

Thailand coach Radchatagriengkai K. - “They played very well. My team did its best. Our team could not employ our strategy plan today.”

Netherlands captain Maret Balkestein-Grothues - “We were very prepared for this match. They have a lot of combinations.”

Thailand captain Pleumjit Thinkaow - “It was a complete defeat, a complete loss. The Netherlands is a great team. There are still many matches left. I will do my best.”

Thai player Tomkom Nootsara - “I would like to praise the Dutch team. The countermeasures they took against us worked very well, especially their serves.”
