Peru and Japan will face off in their opening match of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Tokyo on Saturday

Tokyo, Japan, May 10, 2016 – Peru captain Mirtha Uribe says her team’s first match of the 2016 World Olympic Qualification tournament on Saturday will be the toughest.

“The game against the home team Japan will be the tournament's most difficult and important match, but we have done our homework and we know we must play precisely,” the middle blocker told Andina news agency.

“Although this is a very young team, it is very mature and has clear goals," she added.

Peru will fight against Japan, the Dominican Republic, Kazakhstan, Italy, South Korea, the Netherlands and Thailand, with the purpose of obtaining one of three available spots to the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

Uribe she will “do whatever it takes” to secure a ticket to Rio.
